The prawns love the bacon. The bacon loves the apple. The cider vinegar loves the salad. The salad loves the garden, the garden loves the last bit of alfresco dining this year!

Thank you to Hannah of HoneyandDough for tagging me in the #fdbloggers get to know. Well this is fun isn't it? It reminds me of those 20 question surveys you could do on MySpace but more grown up. I've met loads of people through starting this blog, mostly in the last year and it's great to have their continued support and to return it by helping them out. <3
Name: Jenna / J-dawg / Jezza / Push Push
Blog: Raw Rhubarb
What was your reason for starting a blog?
I was posting lots of food photos on Facebook and more and more people kept saying that I should start a food blog; the ones who loved it wanted more and the haters, I guess, wanted it contained in one place so that they didn't have to see "pictures of people's dinners" lol - fine. It's turned out to be a really exciting venture and I'm so glad I did :) I wish I had a screenshot of what it looked like in the beginning! it was so different to now! actually I can show you a photo it had as it's header - which I loved for ages until I stopped advocating sugar!
What’s the dish you’re most proud of?
Ahhhh I can't choose one! how about:
Chilli Turkey, Sweet Potato Mash, Tenderstem and Lemon Zest - I made this for the boy for date night early in the summer and it was an absolute winner! so simple and paleo friendly, cheap to make and the zest just works magic!
What one kitchen utensil could you not live without?
Probably the garlic press - it comes out for every meal! Actually my Robert Welch Knife is a babe. Love that - you should all get one, and keep it SHARP!
You’re stranded on a desert island. What three ingredients do you take with you?
Live chickens - yes I want fresh eggs please and keep 'em coming.
Vegetable seeds - don't worry I've got this self sufficiency thing on lock down we'll be sprouting up carrots all over the shop in no time.
So maybe a huge tub of wasabe because I'd be fishing for salmon and foraging for seaweed and couldn't live without sashimi!
Who do you take inspiration from?
Jamie Oliver mostly - His rustic design and super flavoursome results are what I always want to acheive along with the substantial work he has put in to inspire and lead change in school food Internationally. Wonderful bloggers doing their thing on Pinterest - there's so much on there! Also Yottam Ottolenghi and his wonderful colourful Middle Eastern inspiring food.
Your favourite social platform?
Biggest disaster in the kitchen?
I used to have a habit of under cooking things. I hate overcooked veg and I hate dry cake so you can't blame me for wanting to avoid those outcomes at all costs. However when your foodie friend is gnawing ferociously on a parsnip baton for what seems like a lifetime and refusing to let you return it to the oven or even microwave it (desperation) to offer some aid as she's too polite there comes a point where you think, just cook it a little longer, for fucks sake.
Favourite spot for coffee?
I had the best coffee ever recently from Florence Road Market - not only was it super smooth coffee but Ben had made some almond milk himself and actually flavoured it with turmeric which gave it an awesome yellow colour and the novelty of that was just too many nice (that's a saying borrowed from my EFL students who can't quite grasp quantifiers yet LOL)
Favourite food photo you’ve taken?
I quite enjoy this one due to it's slightly rude connotations but, errr I definitely love the authentic blue napkins as well, and those chilliwurst were mighty fine. *please not I didn't eat the bun, I'm all about the sausage.
Also this!
It's not a special menu item I created, it's not the lighting or the props or anything it is purely the subject of this photo - naturally placed seeds on a watermelon slice that resemble a face!
What would you say was your most successful blog post and why?
It's been this one which I posted on Christmas Eve - I think it's the baked avocado which is pretty novelty but also the layout is supposedly attractive - unintentionally so as well: I read recently that food photos with triangle shapes makes it more instagrammable! who would know. But I don't really buy into that. I think people just like it because it looks fun and is new and there's bacon, bacon sells like sex sells!
Now nominate three food bloggers you’d like to get to know more.

Last Thursday, on #Nationalburgerday, The Boy walked me up to Brighton station in the pouring rain to meet 37 other bloggers who I had never met before, who were to be taken somewhere they'd never been before - all we knew was that it was 'a house'. Naturally the fear took over for a split second and I envisaged some kind of seige situation where we were all getting kidnapped but then I realised that wouldn't happen in Brighton (it's the 4th safest city in the world, did you know?) and allowed myself to become super excited.
