The snack market has evolved significantly over the last ten years. It has got a lot healthier, more convenient and more diverse: a packet of crisps and an apple was about as staple and simultaneously adventurous as things got about 10 years ago. Crisps are pointless IMO, they just go into your molars and stay there, offering a party for your tongue (applies to salt and vinegar only) but zero for the rest of your body. Unfortunately, conventional snacks are still littering lunch boxes today: Crisps, old-school biscuit bars, cereal bars...Penguins, Wagon Wheels (remember them?!) Trackers, Go-ahead 'yoghurt-coated' bars, Chewies etc. although fun, offer little more than a blast of sugar, bad fat and carbs with imminent guilt and the return of the hunger once the taste has subsided and the sugar has crashed you hard. Then in came the Eat Natural bars which got our attention for a bit. They're still really sugary so they're are about 25% lies but hey, we all choose our own level of hypocrisy, right?!
Wagamama. Why aren't people eating here more often? It feels overlooked,
forgotten about and neglected by foodies. Is it because it's been in Brighton a
long time and new independent restaurants have overshadowed it? Is it because
its a national chain which on the outside, due to it's warehouse-style dining
hall, seems to offer generic, mass produced food? I personally used to think it
was just all very samey but after the last two visits has more to offer
than what you might think.

Wow. What a fantastic restaurant. Reasonable prices, Delicious food (yes capital D) and super friendly great happy smiley efficient service. Never had Sri Lankan food before so was intrigued... Result was a kind of Thai - Indian fusion. Amazing.

Hi friends. Since the last few solid posts, I've been in a few set-ups that have ended up with me neglecting this blog....living in a school with no kitchen for eleven months...then travelling for four months... then coming back and working at an amazing champagne and oyster restaurant being too busy seeing everyone and working to pay off the travel debt - Every spare minute was spent smooching, boozing and snoozing.
Travelling was tasty. Through North and South America, we visited New York City, San Francesco, L.A - Venice beach, Las Vegas, San Diego, Rio De Janeiro, Ilyha Grande, Florionopolis, Iguazu falls, Salta, The salt flats of Uyuni, La Paz, Cusco and Lima.
If you want a little insight into the jokes and absurd situations we experienced, you can visit my travel blog here at http:\\jdawgthecorndog. blogspot.co.uk but please don't expect travel magazine style reviews of tropical paradises. We're talking dickheads we met and pissed adventures.
People go away to 'find themselves' right? Shuttup you absolute geek. We went away and got a sick tan and came back being that twat that starts every sentence with "yar so when I was in XXX..."
I also discovered perfect clarity on what food I could eat for the rest of my life without ever wanting anything else.
I wanna share the ill culinary behaviour (good food) with you and shape up and share some of my own recipes. You can track the mission towards the next adventure, get inspired to eat better and more adventurously and become healthier and sexier in the meantime.
