100% Apple Crisps

Slice the apple, Bake the Apple, Cool the apple, Eat the apple!

You can spice this up if you like - but that's where other recipes online come into play. This one is just to show you that simplest is normally best. Kids would probably love to make this and eat them, too and don't just stop at apples, give carrots, beetroot, parsnip and sweet potato a go as well. You can season them after if you really want to. I used foraged apples - a mixture of crab apples and bramleys.

Cut the apples through the belly - through the core - into really thing slices. As thin as you can make them while keeping the slices whole.  Place on parchment paper into an oven set to 140 degrees.
cook for around 40 - 50 minutes but don't let them burn, some ovens are more fiery than others!
Take them out and allow them to cool - this is when they will get crispy.
Store them in a jar if can resist eating them all straight away!

Have a go! Let me know how you get on. Have you made any other sort of crisps? How did they go?
